Most cellos are sold with a 14-day trial period**. When you receive your cello, please open it immediately, inspect it for damage, and tune it up. We guarantee the workmanship of the cellos that we sell, whether they are new or used. Any used cello flaws that we are aware of will be disclosed on the website. Because of the nature of wood and the fact that each cello is hand-made, minor imperfections can, and should, be expected. All components, such as pegs, tail pieces, bridges, etc. should be sound and in good working order when you receive your cello. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your cello before the end of the 14-day trial period, please contact us immediately to discuss a return and/or replacement.
**International destinations, mezzo-forte instruments, and cellos on consignment are not eligible for the 14-day trial.
Unless you have an agreed upon bow trial in writing, bows are non-returnable. Bow trials are limited to 7 days max (unless the bow is part of a cello purchase, then both the bow and cello have a 14-day trial.) If the bow is not postmarked back to us within that time frame, we will assume you are purchasing it. If you need to try out several bows, please contact us to discuss. Our bows are covered under their manufacturers' warranties. If you have an issue with the quality or workmanship of a bow past the 7-day trial period, please contact us to discuss the best course of action. We cannot, unfortunately, take a bow that has been used back as a return, but we will help you, to the best of our ability, resolve any manufacturer defect issues.
We unpack and inspect all of our cases when they arrive in our shop. Since our cases are covered under their manufacturers' warranties, if you have an issue with the quality or workmanship of your case, please contact us to discuss the best course of action. Case purchases are non-returnable. Please be sure to watch Linda's videos on how to measure your cello to make sure it will fit in the case, and watch her video demonstration/reviews of the cases that interest you before buying. If you have any questions about whether a case is suitable for your uses, and your cello, contact us prior to purchasing a case. We can also help you determine if your cello will fit into a particular case, or make recommendations for cases that will fit.
All case sales are final. We cannot, unfortunately, take a case that has been used back as a return, but we will help you, to the best of our ability, resolve any manufacturer defect issues.
To start a return, please contact us and we will send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. If you are returning a cello, you will have to pay for return shipping. We will deduct it from your refund. Special note about cello shipping: we only charge you ground shipping when you purchase the cello, but depending on how much the cello costs and where we are shipping to, we usually upgrade the shipping to 3-day Select to avoid it bouncing across the country on a truck or train. If we have upgraded your shipping to 3-day Select in order to minimize potential damage, YOU will be required to pay for 3-day Select to return it. We will provide you a label (since our rates are much lower than you would pay on your own) and we will deduct both the deliver rate you paid, and the return rate that we paid. Please check with us if you are concerned about return shipping costs.
You can always contact us for any return question.
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
