Made by Salchow & Sons, a highly regarded artisan bowmaker based in New York City! This is a highly versatile rosin that works very well for cello, viola, and violin bows, using a recipe that William Salchow and his family first perfected more than a half-century ago! Their rosin is very pure and has no additives; both the light and dark varieties create a very smooth tone and leave little dust or residue on the bow.
The light rosin is harder and more commonly used by violinists and violists; violists and cellists can use either light or dark based on their personal preferences and the temperature of the area in which they live. Both varieties come in elegant corduroy pouches that are held closed with a gold-colored cord.
