This cello has been played in quite well, with its tone being much more open and responsive. The upper range is warm and smooth under the hand, allowing the player to navigate the fingerboard easily. The low range is very resonant and woody, allowing the player to dig in. Across the instruments entire range, it maintains its characters despite fluctuation in dynamics. It is ideal for ensemble music; however, it can be pushed for solo repertoire.
The Gill/Dimbath X7 model cellos are suitable for the professional player seeking a more affordable price. They are comparable to Dimbath’s reputable E-class model cellos, possessing a similar level of depth, projection, and complexity that even the most discerning ear can appreciate.
These progressive X-series instruments are the result of a collaboration between Bernd Dimbath's acoustic engineering research and his Gill workshop. This new line of Gill/Dimbath has created sophisticated, professional-level cellos that are exceptionally affordable for the serious musician. This is the only Gill model to be stamped with B. Dimbath brand inside, as well as at the bottom near the endpin. The instrument-making process breaks new ground by constructing enough front and back plates for five instruments at a time and optimally pairs them using the Dimbath shop’s revolutionary acoustical engineering guidelines. This process has proven to be wildly successful, creating cellos comparable in play quality with Dimbath’s C-Class instruments but for a fraction of the cost.
Cello comes with a lightweight hybrid case. Does not come with a bow.
All cellos are setup or adjusted by Linda and played before shipped, guaranteed.Serial #3247
