This Pietro Lombardi model 502 cello manages to be both full of soloist potential as well as forgiving to less than perfect technique. With an all-around, beautifully warm tone and a particularly lovely upper register, this cello molds dynamics with grace and responds magnificently to sensitive playing. While this cello does not have a smaller-than-usual frame, it does feel particularly easy to move around the fingerboard when shifting from position to position. This cello will make an exceptional companion for anyone; from the student cellist wanting a cello that won’t stifle musical growth to the young, advanced cellist who needs a showy cello for recitals and concerto competitions.
Lombardi Model 502s are individually crafted from start to finish by one of the expert luthiers in this small workshop. Every instrument is made from select European woods and finished with an old, Italian-style varnish of warm, amber brown layered over a honey ground.
All cellos are setup and adjusted by Linda, and played before shipped, guaranteed.
