Description   SOLD! Handmade violin bow: made in 2007 Linda West b.1961-present Description: A delicate round stick of pernambuco. Has a hatchet type head fit with a gold and ebony face plate. Insired by French bows such as Tourte, I used a pattern I made from a friend's Simon bow as well as checked it against my Peccate camber curve. The handle is wrapped with silk thread and leather grip. The bow is stamped lightly with *LINDA WEST* The Mastodan frog is mounted with Fleur de Lis and gold mounted. The gold button is encased in two gold rings with a Abalone endcap. The eight Mastodon facets are inlaid with abalone rectangles. The tone is warm and silky. this is a light bow with an 'alive' feel, similar in weight to the traditional French bows I was inspired by. Handmade Violin Bow by Linda West January 20, 2009 Reviewer: Richard Biaggini from San Francisco, CA United States   I have been going to Linda West for years now. She has tended to all my violin needs for several years. Even now, despite the fact that I perform abroad and teach as Professor of Violin in "El Sistema" and at the "Mozarteum" in Venezuela, I return to Santa Barbara, CA for Linda's craftsmanship. I fell in love with this bow the second I played with it. I am definitely planning to use it in my upcoming performances.
