4/4 cello 2009, Stadivari

Nice open sound with excellent resonance and depth. Beautiful buttery tone. This cellos has a meaty bottom register with a silky sweet upper register. This cello is easy to play in the upper reaches on the G and C string like during the Brahms as it doesn't put up a fight up there. There is very little, to no wolf note which makes this a very cooperative cello.

This is also one one my hand selected cellos from a recent opportunity I had to sort through a pile of select Eastman cellos. The hand applied oil varnish is nicely antiqued and the back flaming is creamy looking. I was more focused on making my selection base on tonal qualities, but I'd say this one doesn't look too bad either.
