Description Measurements   SOLD! Rainer Leonhardt  4/4 cello Montagnana; made from rare Lombardi Poplar 2010  This Leonhardt has a powerful warm tone. It is rich and complex already and if it is anything like my daughters Leonhardt Monty it will play-in amazing! She gave it a thumbs up so I know it is very similar to hers as she only likes the sound of her cello.  This is a great choice for solo playing where you need projection to the back of the hall. The back, ribs and neck are from rare European flamed Lombardi Poplar.  This Montagnana has good resistance and endless depth. This Leonhardt is definitely not a shy cello! It has good balance and is really gutsy. Suitable for a serious student, young professional or serious amateur. The hand applied, antiqued oil varnish, is amber under warm orange browns. Its varnish reminds me of an old 1703 David Tecchler cello I recently laid my eyes on.
