A good choice for beginning to intermediate student. This wonderful 3/4 size cello is excellent shape. I believe this is a Chinese instrument and was set-up by the Williams Genakki violin shop in 1998. It has been well 'played-in' so the tone of this cello has had plenty of time to mellow out. This 3/4 used cello has a very even and open tone and is very satisfying to play. At 8 years of age you'll have no new wood curing problems with this 3/4 cello. There are very few surface scratches and minimal signs of wear. It looks almost like a new cello. It's in excellent shape and it is set up very nicely. The tailpiece is a Wittner alloy tailpiece not the Chinese copy. The endpin assembly is good quality with bushing so the action is smooth. I've gone over the whole cello and made adjustments and serviced all the parts as needed. This is an excellent choice if your trying to find a good cello that plays like a much more expensive instrument but are not in a position to pay $2000.
